Caribbean Stud Poker is easy to play and has great payouts for winners.

Caribbean Stud Poker

The casino game Caribbean stud poker is very similar to five and seven card stud poker. Unlike regular poker games, you play against the house as opposed to other players. Because of this style of play there is no bluffing or other forms of deception in Caribbean stud poker like there is in Texas Hold Em. Many player do not regard Caribbean stud poker to actually be a form of poker because there is no bluffing or deception involved.

These rules are typical of most U.S. casinos, but obviously the payouts and limits vary from casino to casino.

How to Play

Caribbean stud poker starts when a player places his ante on the table in the spot indicated; all ante wagers must be placed prior to the dealer announcing No more bets. Then each player and the dealer receive 5 cards, face down. The dealer turns over one of his cards, then pushes his cards toward the players, after which the players may look at their own cards. They may not discuss their hands with the other players at the table as it is forbidden and players may only look at their cards.

In Caribbean stud poker the players have the option now to play or fold their hands; if they choose to play, they place their bets (doubling their respective antes) in the box marked bets. If they choose to fold, they forfeit their ante and stop playing. After all the players have made their decisions, the dealer reveals his hidden cards. The dealer can only play with an ace/king; he then compares his cards to the players cards, and the best poker hand wins.

There are some rules specific to Caribbean Stud Poker that must be observed at all times while playing Caribbean Stud Poker:

  • Caribbean stud poker can only be played one hand per player. Players are restricted to one hand at all times.
  • When you play the Caribbean stud poker Progressive Jackpot feature you are responsible for ensuring your wager has been inserted into the jackpot slot and the indication light is lit.
  • You may not exchange hand information with any player or dealer. Violation will result in a dead hand and forfeiture of wagers.
  • To be dealt an incorrect amount of cards the player constitutes a dead hand for that player alone.
  • The decision of the table or casino supervisor is always final.
  • Once a player has examined his cards and replaced them face down, they may not touch the cards again.
  • If a hole card is exposed prior to the dealer announcing No More Bets, all hands are considered void in Caribbean stud poker.

If a players cards beat the dealers cards during Caribbean stud poker, the player will receive even money on the ante, and the following on his bet:

  • Royal flush 100 to 1
  • Straight flush 50 to 1
  • Four of a kind 20 to 1
  • Full house 7 to 1
  • Flush 5 to 1
  • Straight 4 to 1
  • Three of a kind 3 to 1
  • Two pair 2 to 1
  • One pair or less 1 to1

In Caribbean stud poker if the dealer does not have at least ace/king, all bet wagers will be void, and players will receive even money on their ante bet only. If the dealer's cards beat a player's cards, the dealer collects both the ante and bet.
